so beware: your system will go out eventually. I would like to add i have NEVER done anything out of the ordinary with the system, and just the night prior to this disaster i was watching a dvd with no problems.
the thing is, the original won't let you down. this console, the 80 gb, on the other hand will.
I've had my ps3 almost 6 months to the day, I have become an avid gamer within that time and finally realized what I was missing since the days of original Play station. upon turning the system on i'm greeted with a bright red screen with the words "serious problem" and "contact technical service." so now i'm going through all the hoop-la of having to return my system for repair, and in the meantime can't play anything.
for no apparent reason yesterday, my console died. xbox has the red circle of death, i got the red screen of death.
it is a huge inconvenience and i'm sure sony will do nothing to compensate for this issue. just hope its still in warranty when it does.
I enjoyed my PS2 for years, and I recently upgraded. I was playing the Wii for a while, and it is unfortunately collecting dust in favor of the graphics and online capabilities of the PS3. Though I'm disappointed the rumored price drop did not occur before I made the purchase, I am still pleased with this product and recommend it to gamers and Blu-Ray movie watchers alike.
Playstation network is great and Online is FREE and easy most of all FREE. This system embodies the name "PLAYSTATION" that is exactly what it is, a entire entertainment system. Touted as being one of the BEST blueray players on the market, its an excellent gaming system, and with my HDD upgrade to 320GB its my movie hub, my music collection and picture viewer with complete slideshow and music. the games look great, and the Playstation exclusives are mind blowing. I have had my system for almost a month and I love it.
Great. Amazing graphics, game, system and everything. I also had a wii but i dont like it anymore, it's just too boring after a couple of months. Buy it if you want to upgrade to a great-looking system without caring of the RROD.
The blue ray is exceptional. I am old, maybe that is the reason I find the controls tough.
